The troop does not meet regularly during the summer. Below are some important dates for the troop.

Trail to Eagle week July 24 – 29 Visit on-line Mason Dixon Council, Sinoquipe Trail to Eagle MB listings are available now! I will have the list for review at Thursday’s meeting. Select MB and get prerequisite MB cards started now.

News Notes from the Scout Master

May 12 – Troop Meeting
7:15 p.m. to 8:30 Meeting will be a new scout patrol flag construction and traffic Safety last indoor merit badge sections for older scouts.
Meeting below the Church store at corner of 108 and Woodfield Road.

The new Patrol has selected their name as the “Jaws Patrol .” First patrol leader is Brian D. and Assistant PL is Joe I.

Summer camp last $90 payment is due ON May 12th. Youth full fee is $270 To sign up on 12th May.

May 14 – 15 service project/hike/lazy camp out – local camping from Saturday 8:30 a.m. to possibly 12:00 Sunday, The service project is to review condition of Sugarloaf mountain White Trail and remove small hazards. Then report condition/problems to the ranger’s office. Willing to go to Stronghold for a day hike/service project? Final sign up at this weeks meeting opening. A fee for meals will be requested. All parents are welcome.

Troop Senior Patrol Leader , ASPL, PL, APL elections will be held soon.

Two of the older patrols will merge into one.

Scouts to Thank Veterans

On Saturday, April 23, the Damascus American Legion is having their Warrior Appreciation Day on April 23rd, scouting units are asked to muster around 9:30 – 9:45 to greet wounded vets as they arrive at Post 171 for a day in their honor.

Scouts in uniform are encouraged to come out for support, families and siblings too. Unit flags are welcome. Snacks will be available after. Our participation in past years has been much appreciated by all involved, particularly the guests of honor. All units, ages, and genders are welcome.

Webelos bridging to Troop 445

On Monday, April 11, 2011 we be welcoming new scouts to our troop. Webelos will be bridging over from their Cub Scout Pack to Troop 445. All of our current scouts are invited to attend this important event. The bridging will take place at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Damascus, MD in the community building near the parking lot.

Troop 445 in Damascus, MD meets on Thursday nights during the school year in the basement of the Thrift Shop locate at the corner of Main St. (Rt. 108) and Woodfield Rd (Rt. 124).
